Title

SD: Organizational Data Generation

Purpose

With this program, you can generate sales structures from Sales and Distribution (SD) in Service. As a result, the structures are displayed as organizational unit structures in Service.

Note that the data generation cannot be reset or repeated.

Prerequisites

When you use this program to automatically set up a new organizational structure in Service, an existing organizational structure in Service can be changed or overwritten. To avoid errors in organizational data determination, you must check for manually created organizational units.

Features

  • In Service, an individual organizational unit is created for each of the following objects in the SD sales structure:
  • Sales organizations

  • Sales offices

  • Sales groups

If errors occur (red traffic light in the columns Activated and Generated), see the organizational model.
  • If you are using the enhanced backend integration version of the organizational model, multiple assignments in your SD structure are copied to the organizational model in Service.
  • If you are using the standard backend integration version, the system only copies the first assignment in your SD structure, multiple assignments are not copied to the organizational unit structure in Service.
For more information about organizational model versions, see Customizing for Service under Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Data Transfer -> Convert Org. Model to Represent Multiple Assignments in SD.
  • The currency for the company code of the SAP S/4HANA sales organization is assigned as an attribute to the corresponding sales organization in Service.
  • The distribution channel and division are displayed as attributes of their own organizational unit.

Activities

When you open this report, the system displays a table containing the sales areas, sales offices, and sales groups from SD.

  1. Choose the required lines (sales areas with sales offices and sales groups).
  2. Trigger the structure generation. The system creates an organizational unit structure in Service. You can process this structure directly in organizational management for Service after you have performed the following steps.
  3. To be able to use the organizational structure for organizational management, you need to perform the following steps in Service:
  • Maintain the descriptions for all organizational units

  • Complete any incomplete organizational units for purchasing or service processes

  • Set up scenarios by maintaining the required attributes (such as the postal code area and product group)

Example

You have the following sales structure in SD:

SOrg. Distribution channel Division Sales office
1000 10 01 1020
1000 12 07 1020
1100 10 01 1110
1200 20 01 1220

After data generation, the structure appears as follows in organizational management in Service:

First level Second level Third level Fourth level
Root node Sales org. 1000 OE 10/01 Office 1020
  OE 12/07 (Office 1020)
Sales org. 1100 OE 10/01 Office 1110
Sales org. 1200 OE20/01 Office 1220

Sales organization 1000 has two subordinate organizational units.

Multiple assignments for sales office 1020 are displayed if you have decided to use multiple assignments in Service. Otherwise, sales office 1020 is only assigned once.
