Title

Report for Creating Base Hierarchy for Financing Products

Purpose

The report creates the base hierarchy for financing products, including all necessary categories and the assignment of set types. The report can be used starting in Release 3.0A and is related to SAP Note 0381051.

You can also create the hierarchy manually using the COMM_HIERARCHY transaction (Master Data -> Product -> Process Categories and Hierarchies). The report is part of Leasing Customizing.

Integration

Prerequisites

  1. A base hierarchy for financing products cannot exist already.
  2. Product Modeling Environment (PME) has to be in use.
  3. Standard settings

Features

Selection

In this step you create a base hierarchy for the "financing" product type, complete with categories and assignment of set types. The categories are created as follows:

  1. Hierarchy
    1. Below the financing hierarchy, there is only one category for financing products on the category level. No set types are assigned to it.
  2. Second category level
    1. Financing products (without assigned set types)
    2. Financing options
  3. Third category level below the financing options category
    1. Financing options with financing character (such as renewal)
    2. Financing options without financing character (such as early cancellation)
  4. Third category level below the financing products category

Standard Variants

Output

As a result, you receive a log that is accessible via the normal application log.

Activities

  1. Check the IDs of the hierarchy and the categories. If necessary, modify them to meet your particular needs.
  2. Check the short descriptions of the hierarchy and the categories. If necessary, modify them to meet your particular needs.
  3. If you want to use automatic number assignment, enter a numbering scheme.
  4. In the "PME Settings" group box, set the following indicators, as they apply:
    1. "Configuration hierarchy", if you want to create configurable products, and want to use the value limitation in category processing
    2. "Expanded maintenance", if you want to use value limitations in product processing
  5. Choose "Execute."
  6. You can also create descriptions in different languages using the COMM_HIERARCHY transaction. You can also use this transaction to manually make changes to an existing base hierarchy, and in order to create more sub-levels in the hierarchy (for example, more categories per option type).
  7. The report also defines a value limitation on the categories, for the financing product type and option type fields.
  8. The report fills the alias names of the attributes on category level according to the field names in the tables.
