DMC_MT_DBSIZE_CALC - Calculate storage size needed in receiver system for mass transfer

Purpose

This report calculates the amount of storage required for a mass transfer and compares it with the available storage in the respective table space.

For the calculation of the required storage, two approaches are followed in parallel:

• Number of records in the sender system, multiplied by the table size (number of bytes) in the receiver system

• Current storage size in the sender system. Changes of the table width between sender and receiver system are taken into account.

As for cluster and pool tables, it is assumed that the complete cluster or pool is transferred.

Prerequisites

Not all database systems have a function for determining the available storage space in the receiver system. In particular, this function

is not available in DB2 databases. Selection

All tables which are assigned to the specified mass transfer are taken into account.

Output

You can choose if only an aggregated result on table space level is shown, or if detailed data for each database table is shown.
