Purpose

You use this report to

  • ,,Compare two local field controls
  • ,,Export a local field control as Comma Separated Value (CSV) file
  • ,,Compare a local field control with an external field control that was imported as a CSV file

You can create customized field controls. Therefore, you can create a new field control or change an existing field control. You can use the report DPR_COMPARE_FC to compare different field controls and display the differences. You can use the Exportfunction to compare field controls of other systems or clients with local field controls.

To compare a field control of another system or client (such as a test system, customer system, or Customizing client), you have to export the corresponding field control as a CSV file. The CSV file will be stored in the local file system.

Input Parameters

  • Source field control (mandatory) - Select a local field control as the source.

  • Target field control (optional) - Select a local field control as the target.

  • File (optional) - Select the full path to a CSV file as the target field control.

Output Tree

If you only specify the source field control, the system displays the complete selected field control in an ALV tree and the toolbar contains an Exportbutton. The structure of the ALV tree is similar to the structure of the tree in the Customizing activity Set Up Field Controlunder Project Management -> Global Enhancements to Project Elements.

If you only specify the target field control or file, the system compares the specified field controls and shows only the delta in an ALV tree. In this case, the toolbar does not contain an Export button.

The ALV tree contains the following top nodes:

  • Additional entries in the source field control (entries contained only in the source field control)

  • Additional entries in the target or external field control (entries contained only in the target field control)

  • Changed entries (grouped in pairs of source and target).

If the selected field controls are identical, the output tree is empty.
