Purpose

The project evaluation offers the possibility to analyze easily and quickly different key figures of one or several projects.The users gain an overview of the status of their projects. The analysis of completed projects can help to improve future development projects.

A project evaluation contains plan and actual values, which can be compared. Evaluations can be carried out for the following subjects:

  • Data of tasks, phases and project.
  • Attributes of objects assigned by object links
  • Effort of the project participants.

The user can define threshold values to mark critial values. The aggregated dates are used to give the users an overview of the status of their projects when accessing the application.

The user can create evaluations for both operational projects and project versions, by making the relevant selection. Evalutations created in the program are aggregated and stored.

Integration

Evaluation results are used to highlight critical projects, for example, in the favorites list and the project list on the dashboard. Furthermore, the threshold values appear on the popup page Status for a project element.

Depending on the settings made by the system administrator, the threshold value violations are displayed as summarized data. The summarized value is the highest severity of the subordinate elements, or of the corresponding project element itself; a severity that is set manually, however, takes precedence over one set automatically.

The use of summarized values allows the user to tell at a glance if threshold value violations exist somewhere in the project.

Features

Selection

Parameter:

  • Extract Simulation
If you want to evaluate project versions (simulations), set this indicator. Then you can enter the versions of the projects; otherwise you can enter only operative projects.
  • Only Active Projects
If this indicator is set, the program checks the status of the projects and does not process projects of status "Locked" and "Canceled".
  • Use Customizing
If this indicator is set, the program selects the customizing settings of the project type for the evaluation.
In this case, you cannot change any parameters in the selection screen that are specified in this Customizing.
  • Aggregate Severitites
If you set this indicator, the program aggregates the severities in the project processing.
  • Delete Aggregate Severitites
If you set this indicator, the program deletes the aggregated severities on project level.
  • Check Last Change Date
If this indicator is set, the system compares the last point in time when a change was made to the project by looking at the creation time of the extract. The extraction is only carried out, if the project has changed since the last extraction.
  • Only Determine Severities
If you set this indicator, the system only determines and updates the severities in the project. It does not create or save evaluations.
  • % Usage of Free Work Processes
Specify the percentage of the free work processes that the program may use in parallel.
When the program is started, this percentage is used to calculate the maximum number of work processes allowed for the program from the total of free work processes available at the time. The calculation result is rounded up to the nearest integer, and the program distributes processing to the calculated number of work processes. By means of this load balancing, the performance of the program can be improved.
To prevent the program from using all available work processes, the percentage rate has been restricted to a maximum of 80.
If you do not specify a percentage rate, only one work process is used.
  • Test Run
If this indicator is set, the data are only selected and the result is logged. No evaluation is stored. You must reset this indicator for a productive evaluating session.

If this indicator is set, all messages of the program run are logged.
  • Only Display Records w. Errors
If the test mode indicator is set, only error messages of the program run are logged.

Activities

When the program is finished, the data for the dashboards and the severities of the project elemens should be up-to-date.
