Purpose

You can use this report to simulate the collection process for an IRF data model you created. Based on the output of the data collection process, you can check whether your data model is set up correctly or still needs to be adjusted.

Note: This report is designed for testing purposes and should only be used during data model creation.

Integration

Prerequisites

This report is used as part of the data modeling process required for the Information Retrieval Framework (IRF). To get a comprehensive overview of how to set up your system to work with the IRF, refer to the NetWeaver application help for the Information Retrieval Framework (IRF) on the SAP Help Portal.

Features

Simulate a data collection run to verify the data model required for the IRF. Based on the output, you can make sure that all relevant database tables are part of the model and that the direction of retrieval (table hierarchy) is correct. This report is an integral part of the iterative process that needs to be carried out to gradually improve the data model.

Selection

To run in the report, fill in the following fields:

  • Starting Table: Table that marks the starting point for the data collection process.
  • Starting Field: This is the starting field within the starting table.
  • Data Subject ID: Enter the ID that identifies the data subject whose personal data you want to retrieve from the system, e.g. business partner number, customer number.
  • Purpose: From the dropdown list, select a specific purpose that you want to include in your search. Purposes can be created using the Purpose Maintenance report.

Standard Variants

Output

The report displays all tables that are part of the model in hierarchical order. In the Hits column, you can see if any data records were found for the data subject ID specified on the entry screen.

Click on the number in the Hits column to see more details regarding the data records that were found. You can find out more about the direction of retrieval, i.e. from which fields the data was pulled, by clicking on the Display WHERE condition button (abacus symbol) on the application toolbar.

Activities

To access this report on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Cross-Application Components-> Data Protection-> Information Retrieval Framework-> Data Modeling-> Test IRF Data Model.
