In this Customizing activity, you define how the system responds to errors and conflicts. To do this, you define a resolution strategy. The resolution strategy defines how and whether processes are re-executed or terminated after errors and conflicts occur. For example, you can define the periods during which a certain error can be corrected by automatically repeating the process.

You can define your own resolution strategy for each of the following combinations of characteristics:

You can also use just a selection of these characteristics, or intervals of characteristic values for the resolution strategy.

You define the resolution strategy by specifying the following details:

Defines how long the system repeatedly calls up a process after creation of the PPO order.

Note: You do not have to define your own resolution strategy.

In the Customizing activity Define Resubmission Group, you have defined your own customer-specific resubmission groups, if required.

  1. Select the node at the top of the navigation structure and choose Create Node until you have generated the structure of your derivation strategy.
You can create a hierarchy consisting of three nodes, for example, for your combination of software component, business process, and error category.
  1. On the Selected Node tab page, create a condition for each node .
  2. On the Selected Node tab page, create a target for the node on the lowest level, and define a resubmission group, a repeat, confirm, and discard mode, as well as the residence time.
