EDX_READ_FILES - EDX: Read messages from the file system

Purpose

Instead of exchanging messages using middleware by means of RFC or PROXY, messages can also be exchanged as files using a file system. An SFTP is used as middleware.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

You can call the report using transaction EDX_READ_FILES. The report runs without initial screen and output.

Selection

No selection parameters.

In table EDX_SETUP (transaction SM30, table EDX_SETUP), you have to set the following parameters so that the message exchange is made using the file system.

• Middleware used:,,File system

• Directory Inc. Messages:,,This must be a directory for which this report has read authorization.

• Directory Outg. Messages:,,This must be a directory for which this report has write authorization.

Note:

• That the outgoing messages are entered by the outgoing directory in the subdirectory 'ToSend'. If this directory does not exist, is is created.,,
  The service of the SFTP must read the files to be transferred from this directory.,,
  Example:,,D:\shared\ToSend\

• That the incoming messages are read from the subdirectory 'Received\Mandant_PartnerPID'. If this directory does not exist, is is created.,,

Standard Variants

Output

No output. If you encounter problems, see the trace log (transaction/report EDX_TRACE).
