Title

Purpose
Enhances the maintenance of master data templates with transaction EPDTYPE. Enables you to simultaneously insert new hierarchy nodes in several initial master data template categories.

Example
Example:
- You have the initial template categories TYP_A and TYP_B.
- Only these two initial template categories have the lower-level master data template category TYP_Y assigned in their hierarchies.
- You have created the new master data template category TYP_Y_NEW and want to insert it everywhere where TYP_Y is assigned in the hierarchy.
Diagram of the hierarchy of Typ_A and Typ_B:
TYP_A
------TYP X
------TYP_Y
------------TYP_Y1
------------TYP_Y2
TYP_B
------TYP_Y
------------TYP_Y1
------------TYP_Y2
------TYP Z
You now start this report with the following data:
- Initial template category : no restriction
- Category of higher-level node : TYP_Y
- Category of lower-level node : TYP_Y_NEU
- Optional alias name of position where node is to be inserted: TYP_Y1
Result: the report creates two new hierarchy nodes. The hierarchy now looks like this:
TYP_A
------TYP X
------TYP_Y
------------TYP_Y1
------------TYP_Y_NEW
------------TYP_Y2
TYP_B
------TYP_Y
------------TYP_Y1
------------TYP_Y_NEW
------------TYP_Y2
------TYP_Z
Notes:
- If you do not assign the new node a different name, the system uses the alias name of the sub-node category. In the above example, this would be TYP_Y_NEW.
- If you do not specify an optional alias name for the position where the node is to be inserted, the system inserts the node at the end (in the above example behined TYP_2).
- You can use the selection criteria of the initial template category for the restrictions. If, in the above example, you specify the value TYP_A as the initial template category, the hierarchy of TYP_B is not enhanced.
