Purpose

This program writes the specified reorganization plans to the data archive. It determines the reorganization plans on the basis of the reorganization plan tables.

Integration

Prerequisites

For you to be able to archive a reorganization plan, the following criteria must be met:

  • The reorganization plan has been closed.
  • In the Customizing settings for the Reorganization, you have defined the residence times for reorganization plans in the activity Archiving: Define Residence Times.
  • The residence time for the reorganization plan has elapsed.

Features

You archive closed reorganization plans in two steps in transaction SARA: In the first step, this program writes data (provided that it can be archived) to the archive. In the second step, the program FAGL_R_ARCH_DELETE deletes from the database any data that has been written to the archive.

You can run this program annually or as and when required.

Selection

You can use the following selection parameters that are specific for reorganization plans:

  • Reorganization Plan Type: You need to specify a reorganization plan type. The system uses the reorganization plan type to ensure that only reorganization plans of the same reorganization plan type are written to an archive file.
  • Reorganization Date: You need to enter a period for the reorganization date. You can specify any date as the from-date. In the case of the to-date, you need to adhere to the residence time defined in Customizing.

You can also use the following additional parameters for archiving:

  • Test Mode: If you opt for the test mode, the system runs the archiving process without writing data records to the archive file.
  • Production Mode and Deletion with Test Variant: If you opt for the production mode, the system runs the archiving process completely and writes the data records to an archive file.
If you set the Deletion with Test Variant indicator, the subsequent deletion program is run in the test mode. If you do not set this indicator, the system calls a deletion program that deletes immediately.
  • Detail Log: You can set the level of detail of the log.
  • Log Output: You can specify whether the system outputs the log as a list or as part of the application log.
  • Archiving Run Comment: You can enter a text to describe the content of the archive files of the archiving run.

Standard Variants

Output

Depending on which output option you select, the program shows the result in a list or within the application log.

Activities

You start this program as follows: Start transaction SARA (in the SAP Easy Access menu under Tools -> Archiving -> Archive Data), specify FAGL_REORG as the archiving object, and choose the Write pushbutton under Actions.

We recommend running the program in the background, as is usual for archiving programs.

Example

Further notes

There is a program that enables you to reload data back into the database (FAGL_R_ARCH_RELOAD). However, this program is only intended for exceptional circumstances, such as for test purposes.
