Purpose

In release 1.2, performance obligations with the following attributes were interpreted as dedicated contract acquisition cost performance obligations:

  • EVENT_TYPE = 'CC'
The event type is for contract acquisition cost.
  • FULFILL_TYPE = 'T'
The fulfillment type is time-based.
  • START_DATE_TYPE = '1' or '2'
The start date type can either be '1' or '2'. Start date type 1 indicates that the start date is available when you create a performance obligation, 2 indicates that the start date is available after you have created a performance obligation, and 3 indicates that the start date is always the date when the fulfillment event occurs.

In release 1.3, the field POB_CATEGORY is introduced in table FARR_D_POB in order to identify such performance obligations. This upgrade report therefore provides functionalities to upgrade performance obligations with the above mentioned attributes from release 1.2 to release 1.3 and sets POB_CATEGORY correspondingly. In release 1.3, the field POB_CATEGORY of the contract acquisition cost performance obligation will be 'C.'

Note: Performance obligations with start date type '3' cannot be upgraded and a corresponding error is shown in the application log. In order to upgrade these performance obligations, you first need to change their start date type.
