FINB_GN_LOG_NAME - Generator Catalog: Add Logical Names

Purpose

The new catalog management of the generator tool requires that all objects generated above the high level interface of the generator have a logical name. The program performs a check of the catalog entries (table FINB_GN_TGOBJ).

It is automatically performed for objects of the Master Data Framework during upgrade to Financial Basis 3.0. It can also be started manually and can be repeated.

Features

The program checks the entries of the table FINB_GN_TGOBJ. It forms a logical name for all entries with "OBJ_GUID is not initial and LOGICAL_NAME is initial". It tries to derive the name again for objects of the Master Data Framework. If the Master Data Framework does not provide any logical names or for objects of other applications, it generates a logical name with the prefix 'VFIJKNF37_'. Different versions of an object have the same logical name. The uniqueness of the logical name is checked.

A simulation mode is available.

Selection

The program edits the objects of the Master Data Framework in all clients during upgrade. The selection criteria can be restricted by entering the client or application during manual execution.

Standard Variants

Output

The program writes a detailed log in the application log of the client in which the execution takes place (during upgrade, client 000) in the production mode. You can display the log using transaction SLG1, object FINB_GN, subobject REORG_CATALOGS. The log is also displayed on the screen during execution in the dialog.

A short log is written into the upgrade log during upgrade.
