Purpose

Data storage for links in MIC has been changed (now: Knowledge Provider (KPro)). You can use this program to migrate existing links.

Once migrated, the old links and the Links tab page are no longer available in the Web applications for MIC. You find the migrated links on the Documents and Links tab page. This is where you can also add new links after migration.

For a smooth migration process, we recommend performing migration at a time when no other users are working in MIC.

If a large number of links need to be migrated, we recommend performed the program in the background.

Integration

Prerequisites

To perform the program, you need authorization for authorization group FOPCB.

Features

The migration process can be repeated as often as required. The system stores a log that enables you to analyze any errors that occur.

You can perform migration in two modes:

  • Add: The system does not check whether links have already been migrated and simply adds new links that have been migrated to those that were migrated previously. This mode runs more quickly that the Replace mode. However, links that are migrated twice then appear twice in the KPro.
  • Replace: Before migrating links, the system checks whether the KPro already contains the same links from a previous migration (for example, a failed migration run) and then deletes these links in the KPro before repeating the migration. If a link has been changed by a user in the meantime, it is not overwritten.
