Purpose

The FPM Text Tool (report FPM_TEXT_TOOL, available from SAP_BASIS 7.31) can be used to determine which static texts are used within your component configuration or application configuration.

Integration

The tool is integrated in the STE (System Text Editor) tool. For further information on STE, choose the button More Documentation on the selection screen.

Selection Screen

On the selection screen, use the following fields to specify the configurations whose text you want to review:

  • (Change) Date
  • User ID
  • Package
  • Transport Request / Task
  • Component Configuration (Name)
  • Component (Name)

The selection parameter Languagedefines the language which should be reviewed.

Note:The fields above are not mandatory. However, running the tool without filtering any of the fields is not recommended as a very large number of texts could be generated. Additionally, it could cause problems if components that are not active in your system are selected.

Results List

The results list displays the type of text and ID as well as the text in the selected language and master language.

To navigate to entities such as data elements and component configurations, double-click a cell in the row in the results list.

The following is a list of the supported text types and the transactions that are opened when you navigate to them:

  • D - Data Element
The Dictionary (transaction SE11) is opened.

  • A - OTR Alias
The OTR Editor (transaction SOTR_EDIT) is opened.

  • C - Configuration Text
The FPM configuration editor (FLUID) is opened.

  • U - Other or Unknown
These are objects not supported by FPM Text Tool, such as texts that are not configured and are not read from the dictionary or feeder class.

  • F -Text from Feeder Class
If you double-click a cell in column Configuration ID, FLUID is opened, and you can navigate to the feeder class by choosing the Feeder Class button.

Error Log

A dialog box notifies you if an error occurs during the review, and an Error Log button appears on the toolbar. Select this button to display further details of the error(s).
