Purpose

As of Release SAP_ABA 7.10, the additional partner numbers will be replaced by identification numbers. This means that you can now process identification numbers for a business partner centrally and consistently.

If you have already entered additional partner numbers in table BPID001 (Additional Partner Numbers), then you have to transfer this dataset to table BUT0ID (BP: Identification Numbers) after the upgrade and convert the corresponding change documents.

You use this report to carry out the first step of the data conversion. The report converts existing identification number categories into new identification categories and identification types and saves the corresponding assignments.

You need to create the corresponding assignments between the identification number categories on the one hand and the identification categories and types on the other hand before you can convert data.

Integration

Prerequisites

There are additional partner numbers in table BPID001 that have to be converted to identification numbers after the upgrade to Release SAP_ABA 7.10 (or higher).

Features

The report provides an interface to process the new identification categories and types and the corresponding assignments. If there are no assignments in table BPIDCONV (Assignment of Identification Categories/Types and ID Number Categories), then the report creates an assignment proposal.

When you save, the system creates the assignments in table BPIDCONV (Assignment of Identification Categories/Types and ID Number Categories).

The system displays the following statuses:

  • Mapping: The status indicates whether the assignment already exists in table BPIDCONV or if it is created by the report when you save.
  • Icon with the quick info Exists: The assignment already exists.

  • Icon with the quick info Created: The assignment is created when you save.

  • Customizing: The status indicates whether the Customizing entry for the identification type exists in table TB039A.
  • Icon with the quick info Exists: The entry exists.

  • Icon with the quick info Does Not Exist: The entry does not exist.

  • You cannot use this report to change the focus of Customizing for identification numbers. For example, you cannot change the settings determining for which business partner category an identification type is relevant. The system gets this information for new identification types directly from the assigned identification number category. For example, if you want to permit more business partner categories than those that you originally defined for an identification type, then you have to make this change directly in Customizing for identification numbers. The Customizing activities Define Identification Categories and Define Identification Types are provided for this purpose.
  • The report creates only the assignments between identification number categories and new identification categories and types; the actual identification categories and types are not created in the corresponding Customizing tables. For this reason, input help is not provided for the identification categories and types. However, the system still checks for existing and duplicate entries.

Output

Activities

Run the report.

The system proposes which identification categories and types to create and the corresponding assignments to the identification number categories. You can change this proposal and make any necessary adjustments. The system checks that the assignments are consistent during processing.

Note that once you have defined the assignments, you cannot use the report to change them again at a later date. More specifically, you cannot change the assignment between the identification category and type in Customizing for identification numbers during or after the migration of the additional partner numbers.

You can use the report only once to save the assignments. Once you have saved the assignments they cannot be changed or deleted. You can only create new assignments.
