Purpose

This report enables you to start multiple processes in parallel across several servers to shorten the run time and effectively uses the system resources. This report is used when a large number of sales orders and stock transport orders are processed in ARun.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

In parallel ARun, the main program triggers parallel tasks on multiple application servers (work processes) based on specific material and plant combination. The parallel ARun is performed using work processes. Each work process consists of a packet and each packet may have multiple schedule lines.

During the preselection of relevant orders, the main program determines how often a given article appears across all orders (that is, the number of times the schedule line item appears, not the actual quantity specified within the order). The main program then assigns the most frequently ordered material to the first task, the next most frequently ordered material to the second task, and so on.

Activities

  1. Use transaction ARUNP to execute background processing of an order allocation run. Alternatively, on the SAP Easy Access screen for Retailing, choose SAP Fashion Management -> Order Allocation Run -> Parallel Order Allocation Run.
  2. On the report entry screen, enter the Variant name. Choose the mode of allocation for the selected allocation type and select the Allocation List checkbox if you want to display the allocation results list. For parallel processing, you have the following options:
  • Choose a server group which will be used in parallel processing. The server group determines which application server and instances will be used by the transaction.

  • Specify the number of work processes to be started for a server group on the specified application server. If you leave the field blank or enter 0, it indicates that there are no restrictions for the number of work processes that can be started.

  • Specify the Packet Size for a work process.

  1. Choose Execute to start parallel ARun.
