Purpose

Use this program to check SNMP Printer Status feedback via RspoConnector Interpreter of the IGS.

Integration

Prerequisites

The IGS must be installed and run against this system.

An RFC destination must be maintained in transaction SM59. You can find more information about this in the note 454042.

A printer must be set up in transaction SPAD that supports SNMP status feedback. This printer has to set up with Access Method S, L, U or C.

Access Method L, U, C printers must have a network name or IP address specified in its SPAD definition. Use tab 'Access Method' and button 'SNMP' in transaction SPAD to specify this information.

An Access Method S printer does not need to have its network name or IP address specified in SPAD. Since such a printer is accessed from SAPSprint its printer status may be queried from SAPSprint as well. SAPSprint need to support protocol version 229 for the SNMP query (use command 'sapsprint -v' to check out the protocol version of SAPSprint. The SAPSprint protocol version has to be explicitly mentioned in the output of that command. If not the protocol version of SAPSprint is lower than 229. Furthermore make sure that on the OS side the associated printer is connected via a TCP/IP port to the machine SAPSprint is running on. If not SAPSprint may not be able to query its status.

If an Access Method S printer has its IP address or network name specified in its SPAD definition, the system will try to access the printer directly and not via SAPSprint.

Enter the RFC destination of IGS.

Enter the name of a printer that supports SNMP printer status feedback (see section prerequisites).

The following information should be displayed:

·,,Is RspoConnector Interpreter loaded from IGS.

·,,Does the specified printer support SNMP printer status feedback.

·,,Could the printer be queried for status feedback.

Activities

Carry out the test in SE38 as follows:

·,,Choose F8.

·,,Enter the RFC destination of IGS.

·,,Enter the name of a printer that supports SNMP printer status feedback (see section prerequisites).
