Title

Start Ad Hoc Query (H00_ADHOCQUERY)

Purpose

The Start Ad Hoc Query report (H00_ADHOCQUERY) is used to start HR Ad Hoc Query. The system uses the values specified for the query area, user group, and functional area. If you start Ad Hoc Query with this report, the specified functional area is immediately available.

Integration

You can integrate this report with a variant as transactions in area menus, or you can use it in roles so that you can start Ad Hoc Query directly with a specific functional area.

Example

You always want Ad Hoc Query to start in the Personnel Administration information system with a functional area that is specifically relevant to Personnel Administration. Therefore, you define a variant with the appropriate query area and the functional area to be used. (Do not specify a user group!) You also activate the Ignore SET/GET parameters indicator to ensure that existing SET/GET parameters are overriden by the values entered here when Ad Hoc Query is started. To prevent the variant from being changed, protect it when you save it.

You can use area menu maintenance to integrate the report with the variant in the Personnel Administration information system, or you can use a role to include them in a user-specific menu.

If you require further information on area menu maintenance, access the SAP Library and choose Basis Components -> ABAP Workbench -> ABAP Workbench: Tools -> Menu Painter -> Area Menu Maintenance.

If you require further information on profile maintenance, access the SAP Library and choose Basis Components -> Computing Center Management -> Users and Authorizations -> Profile Generator.
