Purpose

You use this report to calculate the average salary for selected employees within a specified period and save the value in an infotype for later use.

An employee's average salary per payroll period (average monthly salary, for example) in a certain period can be used as the base for calculating his or her insurance premium in the succeeding months. At the end of the year, an employee's average salary for the year provides a reference for calculating that employee's bonus payment.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • You have completed the payroll calculation runs for the specified periods.
  • You have specified which wage types are subject to average salary calculation in Customizing for Payroll China -> Specify Wage Types for Average Salary Calculation.

Features

Selection

Period

You select the relevant calendar periods. Based on your selections, the system retrieves the wage types specified in Customizing from the corresponding payroll results for calculating averages.

Specify a date type. If the date of this specified date type is within the selected period, this date is used as begin date to calculate the average salary.

Period Determination

If the period that you specified includes retroactive payroll runs, you can determine which payroll results the report uses for calculation. You do so by selecting one of the following options:

  • In-view Payroll Periods: The report uses the original payroll results.
  • For-view Payroll Periods: The report uses the latest retroactive payroll results.

Options in the Proration Rule and Probation Periodssections enable you to deal with employees who have probation period or payroll periods with incomplete master data during the selected periods.

In addition, you can specify a wage type to save the calculated average salary, and decide which infotype is used to store the wage type.

Wage Type Category

Specify a wage type category. The report uses the wage types under the specified wage type category to calculate the average salary. You can specify the wage type category and relevant wage types in view cluster VC_T7CNAA.

Standard Variants

When you start the report, the system fills the default values in the following fields:

Field Default Value
Data Selection Period The previous calendar year
Effective From The current system date

If necessary, you can change these values to meet your needs.

Output

The system displays the calculation results in an SAP List Viewer (ALV) list. By default, the system displays an overview list that includes only the successfully processed personnel numbers. In this overview list, the following functions are available:

  • To check the personnel numbers for which the report did not calculate an average, choose the Errors pushbutton. The system displays the relevant personnel numbers, and indicates the errors.
  • To view the processed payroll results, select personnel numbers and choose the Display Details pushbutton. The system displays all processed payroll periods, the payment date for each period, the relevant wage types, and their total amount in each period.
  • To save the calculated average salary, select the relevant personnel numbers and choose the Update Infotype pushbutton. When you confirm your request in the prompted dialogue window, the system creates a new infotype record for each selected personnel number, according to the information that you specified on the selection screen, including:
