Title
Profession Tax (PTax) form for India.
Purpose
This function enables you to display and print reports that provide detailed information as per the statutory format required to submit the profession tax paid by the employees.
This is a statutory report which is submitted to the PTax office circle and is run as and when the employer is required to submit the proof of PTax paid by the employee.
The employer submits the PTax details to the local Ptax office circle for a group of employees based on their PTax groupings. You can trigger reports for five different states from this function, which the system interprets from the entries made in Professional Tax grouping.
Note: The statutory form does not identify any payment as arrears and hence whenever arrear form is generated it should also be remitted to the professional tax authorities.
Prerequisites
- You have run the payroll for your employees and have payroll results.
Features
The report lists profession tax details of employee's and are submitted in the format required by the state authorities.
The program identifies which report to print and prints the data accordingly for the target state or province based on the profession tax group selected.
The state specific submission format are:
- Form V for Andhra Pradesh
- Form IV for Assam
- Form 5 for Gujarat
- Form 5 for Karnataka
- Form 5 for Kerala
- Form 5 for Madhya Pradesh
- Form 3 for Maharashtra
- Form IV for Mizoram
- Form IV for Nagaland
- Form IV for Orissa
- Form 7 for Rajasthan
- Form I for Tamil Nadu
- Form V for Tripura
- Form 3 for West Bengal
You can print annexures for a given form which provide additional data such as the profession tax basis and profession tax paid.
Selection
Set the payroll area and period for which the report is to be generated in the following fields:
- Payroll Area
- Payroll Period
You can further restrict the employees selected by entering an individual, or a range of:
- Personnel no
- Personnel area
- Personnel subarea
- Employee group
- Employee subgroup
You must also enter the following information:
- The Profession Tax Group to specify the local office circle where the tax is paid.
- The State/Regionof employment.
For a given period, the system generates the report based on a combination of Professional tax grouping, and the Region/State.
For the state of Rajasthan the selection period is constrained to
- '03' for quarter ending 30th June
- '06' for quarter ending 30th September
- '09' for quarter ending 31st December
- '12' for quarter ending 31st March
Select Print Address of Personnel Area indicator if you want the system to print, under the Name and Address section of the forms, the name and address that corresponds to the Personnel Area to which the employee belongs.
Standard Variants
Output
- The system generates a list with the employees' basic details corresponding to the form that is selected.
- A list of errors, if any.
