Purpose

When a company joins in a group life insurance (LI) policy, the insurer periodically sends the data files containing information about the insurance premiums or the policy dividends to the company using LINC .

When you receive a data file from LINC, this report enables you to complete the following tasks:

  • Verify if the data file complies with the data layout predefined in the system
  • Identify the employees whose LI master data is not consistent with that in the data file, and therefore needs to be updated

This report also provides you with various options for updating the master data.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • You have saved the data files from LINC on your own PC or on the application server.
  • You have replicated the standard LINC data layouts in Customizing for Personnel Management, under Personnel Administration -> Payroll Data -> Life Insurance and General Insurance (JP) -> Group Insurance Policy -> Define Data Layouts.
  • To enable the system to update the master data, you must have mapped the LINC-specific insurance codes with the insurance contract types used in the system. You make the settings in the following Customizing activities under Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Payroll Data -> Life Insurance and General Insurance (JP) -> Group Insurance Policy -> Group Life Insurance:
  • Define LINC Insurer Codes

  • Map LINC Insurer Codes with Insurer Codes in System

Features

You have the following options for updating employees' records in the Life Insurance/General Insurance Information Japan (0143) infotype:

  • Update infotype records while running the report
  • On the result screen, determine the target records to update, and update master data in one of the following ways:
  • Directly from the result screen

  • Create a batch input session and update master data by processing the session

Selection

  • Select the employees whose data is included in the imported data file
  • Specify the data layout and the target period of the data file
  • Decide how to update employees' infotype records

Standard Variants

We provide the following standard layout variants to display the results using the SAP List Viewer (ALV):

Variant Applicable Content Type Feature
2_STANDARD YEA Information Display all records
3_STANDARD YEA Information Only display records with remarks
0_STANDARD Other types Display all records
1_STANDARD Other types Only display records with remarks

You can create and use your own ALV variants to filter the information on the result screen.

Output

The following options are available to display different information.

  • User Input on Selection Screen
You have an overview of your selection criteria.
  • Data File Verification Result
According to the verification results, the records are grouped in the following categories:
  • Data with Error in the File

You can find more information about the error in the Remark column.
  • Mater Data Update Candidate

If there is any record in the Master Data Update Candidate category, the Create BI Session or Update Infotype buttons are available to you, depending on the method you chose to update master data on the selection screen, that is, you can select the records that you want to update, and either include them in a batch input session or update directly.
  • Matched Data

You do not need to do anything with the records in this category.

If you use the standard ALV variants, the records for the same insurance company are grouped together on the result screen. Within each insurance company, the report also displays the sum of the records in each result category.

Activities

To access this report, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Human Resources -> Payroll -> Asia/Pacific -> Japan -> Payroll -> Group Insurance -> Life Insurance -> Check and Import Data File.

If you need to update the master data using the created batch input session, execute the transaction Batch Input Monitoring (SM35), select the batch input session that you created, and process it.
