Title

Updating the Attribute Buffer for Generic Attributes

Purpose

The program is used for structuring the attribute buffer for a specific day.If required, buffer entries can also be reset.

The program also offers you the option of preparing mobile client distribution for the scenarios SALE and SERVICE.

Daily manual updates (for example, after changing the organizational structure) are not necessary, as when you switch on buffering for a scenario, (asynchronous) updating of the buffer when there are changes is activated.

Buffering is only valid for a certain day, that is to say you cannot have a buffer for today and tomorrow.

Prerequisites

Indicate the scenarios for which buffers should be set up in view cluster T77OMATTR. If, for example, you would like to buffer the BBP scenario, first call up view cluster maintenance with SM30 for table T77OMATTR and select the indicator "buffering".

Features

Selection

You can choose whether all buffers should be reset (recommended as a batch run at night) or if you only want to update the buffer (recommended that you update manually during the day).

You can also choose whether the buffer entries should be rewritten. If this is the case, you can determine the validity (date) of the buffer. Normally today's date is proposed; from 20.00 hours (system time) the following day is proposed. This gives you the option of running the program in a batch from 20.00 hours to set up the buffer for the next day (recommendation: Set the program to start after midnight so that online changes do not affect buffering).

The planned scenarios for buffering are displayed for your information along with the buffered object types. The program also displays the day on which the buffer was last set up, when it was started and when it finished.

In the CRM environment you can also prepare mobile client distribution. There are three possible variants:

  • Only distribute changes (recommended)
  • Only distribute changes and deleted or invalid objects or
  • distribute all data (initial distribution).
If there is initial distribution, all objects that already exist are first deleted from the mobile client before new initial distribution takes place.
You can also change the issue: In the standard (shortened), only the individual actions are displayed. In the more detailed version, you also receive a list of the updated buffer entries.

Standard Variants

Enterprise Buyer professional edition (BBP)

To set up the buffer in the background, use the variant SAP&EBP. Mobile client distribution must be switched off.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

To set up the buffer in the background, use the delivered variant SAP&CRM to distribute organizational data to the mobile client. Otherwise choose the variant SAP&EBP.

Note for variants

If you want to define your own variant, make sure that the date for setting up the buffer is not saved in the variant, so that the buffer is always set up on today's date.
