Purpose

You use this report to copy the Customizing settings of reports you have made for the Reporting Framework to a new one.

Integration

Prerequisites

You have prepared complete Customizing settings for the source reports in Customizing for General Application Functionsunder Reporting Framework - Settings for Reporting Framework - Settings for Report, in the Customizing activities that relate to report identification and versioning, sections, lines, supplementary data, output settings, function modules, and cross-check rule definition.

Features

Selection

In the Report Group/Identification/Version group box, you specify the data of the source and the target report group/ID/version as follows:

  • In the Copy Fromcolumn, you have to identify the source for the copy. If you want to copy the Customizing of several report IDs that belongs to one report group, enter the report group and leave the Report Identificationand Report Versionfields empty. If you want to copy several report versions, you can leave the Report Versionfield empty. When you fill out all the three fields, which identify only one report, the report copies only those Customizing settings that belong to the report.
  • In the New Valuecolumn, you have to specify the target report of the copy. The newly created report must not exist in the system. If the target report group or report ID do not exist, the report copies them to the newly created target report group or report ID. You can specify a single report on the source side in detail by entering the report group/ID/version, you can enter only the report group on the target side.
Note: If the fields are not editable, choose Enterto make them editable.

You can execute a test run before the actual run by selecting the Test Modecheckbox. In this case, the transaction displays an application log with the errors but does not make any changes in the database tables or does not save data in the Customizing request.

In the Task/Request group box, you can select the Create Task/Requestcheckbox and enter the request or task ID and its short description in the relevant fields. During the data copy, the system creates the request or task and saves the copied data in it.

Note:

The request must be a customizing request.

In the Select Customizing Sections for Copy group box, you can specify which sections in Customizing you want the system to copy from the source report to the target report. You can use the Select All/Deselect All checkboxes for the selection. You must select at least one section for the copy function. You can choose the following settings to be copied:

  • Sections, lines, headers
  • XML settings
  • PDF settings
  • CSV settings
  • Function module settings
  • Cross-check rules
Note:
If you want to copy the cross-check rules, first select the Copy Cross-Checks checkbox. The Copy Cross-Check Rulesgroup box appears where you enter the cross-check ID whose settings you want to copy and press Enter. The New Valuefield becomes editable, so you need to enter the target cross-check ID in this field. If you want to use different values as the report group/ID/version for either the left or right side, you can enter the new values in the relevant fields.

Standard Variants

Output

When you execute the transaction, the report displays an application log that contains the details of the copied Customizing data, errors (for example, locked maintenance views), the number of processed reports. We recommend that you execute a test run first and check and correct the errors.
