Purpose

The SAP LT Replication Server facilitates the replication of data from one or more source systems to one or more target systems. The source systems can be SAP or non-SAP systems. However, if you want to replicate archived data, you must select them by using this report. The SAP LT Replication Server then transfers the archived data to the target system.
In addition, you can use this report to delete data records from the target system database. For more information, see the documentation for the write behaviour Delete.

In order to replicate data, you must first define the parameters that the SAP LT Replication Server will use to replicate data from one or more source systems to one or more target systems. You specify this information in a Configuration. The prerequisite for using this report is that a configuration exists. You can create a configuration in the Configuration and Monitoring Dashboard in the SAP LT Replication Server.

This report involves two steps. In the initial screen, you specify an archiving object. You must also specify the relevant archive files - either by specifying a date range (the date on which the archive file was created), or a key that identifies one single archive file. For this archive object, the system identifies the relevant tables that are to be transferred. The system lists these tables in the second screen. In the second screen, you can add these tables to the transfer. This means that for these tables, the system retrieves data from the archive, and transfers this data to the target system. To transfer the archiving data to the target system, select the relevant tables, and choose the Proceed with Selection pushbutton.

In the initial screen, you specify the following information:

Field Description
Mass Transfer ID The unique identifier for a configuration.
Archiving Object The name of the archiving object.
Migration Object For an archiving object, the criteria that you specify for the tables that are to be transferred (for example the key for the archive file, or the date range) is stored in a migration object. If you do not specify an entry in this field, the system will create a migration object that has the same name as the archiving object. This migration object will then contain the criteria that you specify in the subsequent fields. However, you can create several migration objects for an archiving object. This can be advantageous, for example, if you want to divide the data that is transferred into subsets (containing different tables or archive files). To do this, you specify an entry in the Migration Object field that is different to the archiving object name. You then enter the relevant criteria in the subsequent fields. The system will then create a migration object (with the name that you specify) for the archiving object. If required, you can then execute the report again to create additional migration objects.

Select All Tables If you select this checkbox the system will transfer archived data from all the tables selected for replication for the archiving object.
Portion Size in KB The data that is transferred to the target system must be divided in portions. You can specify the portion size. The default portion size is 8000 kilobytes.
Archive Date From You must specify a date range or the key of the archive file.
Archive Date To You must specify a date range or the key of the archive file.
Key for Archive File You must specify a date range or the key of the archive file.
Write Behavior The the write behavior determines how changes to the target system database occur. If you want to delete data records from the target system database, use the write behaviour Delete.

Integration

Prerequisites

The rfc user in the sender system needs an authorization for authorization object S_ARCHIVE with the following values:

  • ACTVT = 03 (display)
  • APPLIC =
  • ARCH_OBJ = the archiving object(s)
