Purpose

For each table, it needs to be decided how it should be treated in the time period of the monitored production:

  • delta replay (changes need to be transferred to the future productive system)
  • ignore changes
  • prevent changes (no changes allowed)

In order to classify all existing tables in the right way, the hitherto productive system needs to be run under the conditions of the monitored production for some time. All tables for which changes are detected during that time interval have been loaded to the set of tables to be processed in the previous activity.
In parallel, there is a knowledge base that classifies all tables concerning their process option. Now if this knowledge base classifies a certain table as "no changes allowed" but changes occurred during the simulation of the monitored production, this is a conflict situation which must be resolved in some way, for example:

  • accept changes, and do a delta replay for this table
  • ignore the changes
  • prevent the changes, as suggested by the knowledge base

In any case, some decision must be taken. Once this is done, the conflict state for this table can be reset.

Only if the conflict state of all tables for which conflicts were detected is reset, this activity will get the status "successfully completed" which is the indispensable prerequisite for the subsequent activity "create logging tables".
