IUUC_REPL_COMPARE_SRC_PRXY_TRG - Compare Table Structures
ROGBILLS - Synchronize billing plans BAL Application Log DocumentationThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
Purpose
When replicating data to a target system, a table is created for each source system object in the SAP Landscape Transformation Server system. These tables are required to transfer the data to the target system correctly, and are known as proxy tables.
You can use this expert function to determine whether:
- The proxy table is inconsistent.
- To do this, the system compares the expected structure of the proxy table with the structure of the proxy table
- The target object is inconsistent
- To do this, the system compares the expected structure of the target object with the structure of the target object.
The structure of the target object is not only based on the structure of the source object, but also on any additional adjustments using SAP LT Replication Server (by using the Table Settings option in transaction LTRS). This is the expected structure of the target object.
If inconsistencies are found, you can also use this expert function to update the structure of the proxy table based on the expected structure of the proxy table, and also update the structure of the target object based on the expected structure of the target object.
Note that it is not possible to use this expert function to adjust proxy tables and target tables that have been created by SAP LT Replication Server for CDS views.
In addition, this expert function cannot be used by configurations that use any of the following options:
- Replicate NULL Values
- Reload Procedure that Retains Data in Target System
Adding, deleting, or changing a source system key field during the replication process can result in data inconsistencies and is not recommended. The expert function will not permit any adjustment to the proxy table or target table to reflect such a change to the key field.
Selection
In order to view whether differences exist between the tables described above, you must specify the following information:
- Mass Transfer ID
- Table Name. This field is optional. If left empty, then all objects of the specified mass transfer ID are used in the comparison. By specifying object names, you can restrict the objects being used in the comparison.
Output
The system displays the results of the comparison. You can view the following columns:
- Table
- Source Table
- The name of the object in the source system.
- Proxy Table
- The name of the proxy table in the SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server system.
- Status
- In the first status column, you can view the result of the comparison for the proxy table. Note that the system compares the expected structure of the proxy table with the proxy table. The following values are possible:
- Green Traffic Light. No differences were detected; the expected structure of the proxy table and the proxy table is the same.
- Yellow Traffic Light. Differences were detected, but the differences are not critical.
- Red Traffic Light. Critical differences exist which could result in data loss.
- Target Table
- The name of the object in the target system.
- Status
- In the second status column, you can view the result of the comparison for the target object. Note that the system compares the expected structure of the target object with the target object. The following values are possible:
- Green Traffic Light. No differences were detected; the expected structure of the target object and the target object is the same.
- Yellow Traffic Light. Differences were detected, but the differences are not critical.
- Red Traffic Light. Critical differences exist which could result in data loss.
If the expert function could not compare some object, the system displays a dialog box that lists the relevant errors.
Activities
Viewing the Structure of the Objects
If inconsistencies exist, you can view the structure of the objects to get more information. In the screen that displays the results of the comparison, you can click on the names of the source object, the proxy table, and the target object to view the relevant structures.
Resolving Inconsistencies
Two types of inconsistencies are possible:
- Proxy Table Is Inconsistent
- If the structure of the proxy table is not the same as the expected structure of the proxy table, you can update the structure of the proxy table based on the expected structure of the proxy table. To do this, choose the button Update Proxy. The system will update the structure of the proxy table based on the expected structure of the proxy table.
- Target Object is Inconsistent
- If the structure of the target object is not the same as the expected structure of the target object, you can update the structure of the target object based on the expected structure of the target object. To do this, choose the button Update Target. The system will update the structure of the target object based on the expected structure of the target object.
Repeating the Comparison for the Mass Transfer ID
To repeat the comparison for the objects in the list, choose the Refresh button.
Viewing the Errors for Tables That Could Not be Compared
If the system could not run the comparison for some objects in the configuration, you can view the errors for those objects. To do this, choose the Error Log button.
