Purpose

You can use this function to create the relevant tables and synonyms for the target system. The system only executes this function for objects for which tables and synonyms do not exist.

The system takes into account any settings defined in transaction LTRS (Advanced Replication Settings).

Features

The system creates tables and synonyms for the objects listed on the Participating Objects tab. Depending on the type of replication scenario, the system takes the following actions:

Replication Scenario Action
Replicating Data to SAP HANA and any other supported database Creates the table in the target SAP HANA system.
Creates synonym in SAP HANA database that points to the target table.
Creates a proxy table in the SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server system that is used to connect to the SAP HANA database.
Replicating Data to SAP HANA (Option 'Activate NULL Value Replication' Enabled) Creates the table in the target SAP HANA system.
In the target SAP HANA system, a view is created that indicates whether the fields that can contain null values really have a null value. This view points to the target table.
Creates database triggers for the view.
Creates a proxy table in the SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server system that is used to connect to the SAP HANA database.
Database Connection to Source System Creates synonym or view that points to the source object.
Creates synonym or view that points to the logging table
Replication to SAP BW Persistent Staging Area (PSA) Creates PSA interface.
Replication to Operational Delta Queue (ODQ) Creates a proxy table in the SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server system.

Selection

If you use transaction LTRC to run this function, then the system automatically uses the relevant mass transfer ID (this value cannot be changed). If you run this function as a report outside of transaction LTRC (for example by using transaction SE38), then you must specify a mass transfer ID. If you want to restrict the creation of the tables and synonyms to certain objects, you can specify them in the Table Name fields. Otherwise, the system executes this function for all objects for which tables and synonyms do not exist.

Note that even only certain objects are specified, the system checks whether this function has been executed for all the objects of the mass transfer ID and updates the status of all the objects accordingly.

Output

You can view any error or warning messages in the log.
