Purpose

You can use this report to change the recording mechanism that is used by SAP LT Replication Server in the source system to record changes to objects.

When you create a new configuration, the system will use the subscription-based change data capture mechanism to record changes. If the source system does not support this recording mechanism, then the legacy change data capture mechanism will be used.

Even if the source system supports the subscription-based change data capture mechanism, it cannot be used for certain use cases. For example, the legacy change data capture mechanism must be used if you want to transfer data from an INDX-like table to a target table in readable format or if you want to transfer data from an archive to the target system. In such cases, you can use this report to change the recording mechanism. Note that it is only possible to change the recording mechanism before you add any objects to the configuration.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • In the SAP LT Replication Server system, you have used transaction LTRC to create a new configuration.
  • The configuration must not contain any objects.

Features

The report changes settings of the configuration so that it can use the selected recording mechanism.

If you want to change the recording mechanism from the legacy change data capture mechanism to the subscription-based change data capture mechanism, note the following constraints:

  • The source system must support the subscription-based change data capture mechanism
  • The following scenarios are not supported:
  • Replicating Data to Central Finance

  • Replicating Data to SAP BW by Using the ODP Framework

  • Replicating Data Using SAP LT Replication Server SDK
