Purpose

In this function, you can view information about tables from the sender system. You view information for all tables that are in the initial load stage or in the replication stage, or for specific tables that are in the initial load stage or in the replication stage. You can view information for specific tables that are not yet in the initial load stage or the replication stage, but not if the table name exceeds 30 characters.

You can view information such as the table size in the source system, created triggers and logging tables, and registered replication consumers (relevant for 1:N replication scenarios that replicate the same table to different target systems).

Prerequisites

To avoid excessive SELECT COUNT statements, the table size is derived from the database statistics. This means that the number of records in the table may not always be accurate. The following situations are possible:

  • The statistics have been updated recently and the number of records in the table is accurate.
  • The statistics have not been updated recently, and the number of records in the table is an approximate value.
  • The statistics have never been updated and the number of records in the table is 0.

Selection

If you use transaction LTRC to run this report, then the system automatically uses the relevant mass transfer ID (this value cannot be changed). If you run this report outside of transaction LTRC (for example by using transaction SE38), then you must specify a mass transfer ID.

To define the relevant tables you can choose one of the following options:

  • Running Tables. You can view information for all tables in the configuration that are either in the initial load stage or are in the replication stage.
  • Specific Tables. You can view information for specific tables that are in the initial load stage or in the replication stage. You can view information for specific tables that are not yet in the initial load stage or the replication stage, but not if the table name exceeds 30 characters.

Output

You can view the following information for each table:

  • Source System Table Name. You can click on the name to view the table structure.
  • Table Category. Tables can have one of the following categories - transparent, pool or cluster.
  • No. Records in Source System Table. This number is derived from the database statistics files and could vary from the exact number (depending on how old the statistics are). Note that sometimes the information cannot be retrieved for non-SAP source systems and the value 'n/a' is displayed.
  • Source Table Size (in KB). If the source system is an ABAP-based SAP system, this information is derived from the database statistics files and could vary from the exact size (depending on how old the statistics are). For pool or cluster tables, the system displays the size of the physical table. The table size cannot be retrieved for non-SAP source systems. If the source system is a non-SAP system, the value 'n/a' is displayed.
  • Data Class. You can view the data class for the source table
  • Logging Table. If the system has already created the logging table, you can view its name. You can view the table structure by clicking the logging table name.
  • Data Class of Logging Table. You can view the data class for the logging table.
  • Database Trigger. You can view whether the database trigger exists for a table. If the trigger exists, and the table is part of the specified configuration, you can click an entry in this column to view the trigger code.
  • Consumer. You can view the number of registered replication consumers (replication configurations) for this table.
  • Index for Source System Table. You can view whether an index exists for the source system table. If an index exists for the table, you can view information about the index by clicking the link Index Exists.
  • Target System Table Name. You can view the name of the target system table. You can view the target table structure by clicking on the name of the table.
  • Index for Target System Table. You can view whether an index exists for the target system table. If an index exists for the table, you can view information about the index by clicking the link Index Exists.
  • No. Records in Target System Table. This number is derived from the database statistics files and could vary from the exact number (depending on how old the statistics are). Note that sometimes the information cannot be retrieved for non-SAP target systems and the value 'n/a' is displayed.
  • Target Table Size (in KB). If the target system is an ABAP-based SAP system, this information is derived from the database statistics files and could vary from the exact size (depending on how old the statistics are). For pool or cluster tables, the system displays the size of the physical table. The table size cannot be retrieved for non-SAP target systems. If the target system is a non-SAP system, the value 'n/a' is displayed.
