Purpose

You can use the following radio buttons to control the replication process for the selected source system:

  • Start Load
Starts an initial load of data from the source system. The replication is a one-time event, and after completion, further changes to the source system database will not be replicated.
  • Start Replication
Starts an initial load procedure and then begins the continuous or scheduled replication procedure.
  • Stop Load / Replication
Stops any current initial load, replication, or recording process. Note that stopping the current process for a table will delete any triggers for that table in the source system (and also the corresponding logging table). If you want to restart the initial load, replication, or recording process for the table, you must start the entire process again. Note that for large tables, this can take a long time.
  • Suspend Load / Replication
Pauses a table from a running load or replication. In case of a replication, the trigger will not be deleted from the source system. The delta will still be stored in log tables in the source system.
Note: If you choose this option for a cluster table that is part of a table cluster, then the initial load / replication process will be suspended for all the tables that are part of that table cluster.
  • Resume Load / Replication
Previously suspended load or replication will be resumed.
Note:If you have suspended the initial load / replication process for a cluster table that is part of a table cluster, then the initial load / replication process will be resumed for all the tables that are part of that table cluster.
  • Start Recording
Starts recording changes of a table without an initial load procedure or the replication procedure. Note that starting recording for a table will create triggers on this table in the source systems. It will also create a logging table for the recording purpose.
  • Start Replication( w/o Load )
Starts the replication procedure for a table without an initial load. You can perform this action only for tables with status Recording.

Note:If you are replicating data to a database using a database connection, then you also have the following option:

  • Create Table / DB View
You can use this option to create tables and view in the target system. If you choose this option, the system only creates the database table or database view that you specify; no data is replicated to the target table. Note that if you create a database view in the target system, the relevant tables for that view must exist in the target system.
