Purpose

This activity defines the set of tables to be considered in a specific IUUC package. This set of tables should include all DB tables (in case of pool or cluster tables, specify the logical table name, not the name of the physical cluster table) for which a delta replay is required. That means, changes to these database tables that occur during the monitored production phase in the hitherto productive system should be replicated to the future productive system. Also, tables for which no changes should be allowed any more during the monitored production phase need to be considered.

Usually, a list of tables that should be considered for the delta replay can be obtained by means of transaction ST10 which records all the changes to DB tables done during a time period when the productive system was run under the conditions of the monitored production (no changes to the repository or customizing).

For all appication tables that exist in the system but are not specified in this list, a special sort of DB trigger will later be set to prevent any database changes for these tables during the monitored production.

There are several ways how the set of tables can be defined:

  • The tables are listed in a PC text file; you need to specify the location of that file after starting the report.
The process option for such tables is copied from the table classification, unless it is "FREEZE" without reference to a basis table for a text table. In the "FREEZE" case, the table is set into a "conflict" state, because we normally don't expect a table to be "FREEZED" to undergo changes in the "monitored production" context.
Optionally you can set all other tables from the table classification to process option "FREEZE" (except for those classified as "IGNORE"; these keep the IGNORE classification). This can also be done if the following option (DB table with ST10 data) is chosen.
  • The tables are stored in table IUUC_ST10DATA. In this case, you should have used report IUUC_DISPLAY_ST10_DATA to get the ST10 data from the original system. The process option is set the same way as discussed for the PC text file case.
If you choose this option, you need to additionally specify
  • the system ID of the source system

  • the date range for the dates when the ST10 data were retrieved

  • Copy from other mass transfer ID. All the data from a previously existing mass transfer are copied.

You can repeat the definition of the set of tables to be processed; in this case you can choose if you want to overwrite existing table entries, or if you want them to remain unchanged.
