Purpose

This special-purpose tool addresses the problem that for a table for which there are many new entries with a specific number range being inserted in parallel to the online delta replay, the original parallelization based on static delimitations reflecting the frequency of certain numbers as it was before the replay started becomes insufficient.

It is necessary to base the parallelization on the new (current) distribution of numbers.

This report performs the following steps in sequence:

  • Get the static delimitations from the sender (original / productive) system. (Make sure that you have started the access plan boundary calculation again, and that the corresponding job has meanwhile finished processing!).
  • Temporarily reset flags for the table in the transfer control table, to make sure that the object won't be considered for processing by any new processes
  • Stop the batch jobs that were processing this table
  • (Re)Create the access plans with the new static delimitations. The old access plans are retained but refer to a newly created collective access plan with a different ID.
  • Set flags in the transfer control table again, to make sure that the table can be processed again

Integration

Prerequisites

The report to calculate the access plan boundary calculation in the sender (original) system must have been run again, and must have successfully completed the calculation.
