Purpose

You use this report to carry out reporting on decommissioned data. The reporting is based on the configuration settings. You can load and view the decommissioned data as reports. The report automatically uses archive indexes for performance improvement wherever applicable.

Integration

You need to complete the configuration settings in the report for Business User Reporting Configuration.

Prerequisites

  • You have extracted data from the legacy system.
  • You have completed the configuration settings and the configuration status is green.
  • If you have configured a table with a field catalog, you have made sure that the corresponding archive information structures for that field catalog are filled during the reporting. If not, you cannot perform reporting using that table.
  • The authorization object ILM_BUR_RT has been assigned to your profile.

Features

You can run the report for the selected report ID, create a new report, or manage the existing report.

Business User Reporting

To run the report, do the following:

  1. Select the legacy system ID.
  2. Select the legacy system client.
  3. Under Configurations section, double-click and select the configuration that you want to use for reporting. The Business User Reporting screen displays and you can view the configuration details.
  4. Select the report ID.
Note: If the report ID does not exist, Choose Manage Report Load and create a new report.
  1. Enter the selection parameters for reporting.
  2. Choose Execute. The system runs the report and the results are displayed on the Reporting Output screen.

Manage the Report Load

You can manage the reports created for the selected configuration.

  1. Select the legacy system ID.
  2. Select the legacy system client.
  3. Under Configurations section, double-click and select the configuration that you want to use for reporting. The Business User Reporting screen displays and you can view the configuration details.
  4. Choose Manage Report Load to display the Manage Report screen and view all the reports created using the configuration ID.
  5. You can create a new report or view existing reports for the selected configuration.

Create a New Report

  1. Enter the report name.
  2. Enter the description and any additional information.
  3. Enter the authorization group. This setting allows you to control access to the report. Only users with a particular configuration and authorization group assigned can view or perform other actions on the report.
  4. Enter the selection parameters for archive access. These parameters identify the files that must be selected from the storage system for reporting purposes. It is a collection for the associated ILM object defined in your configuration.
  5. Choose Execute. The system generates a unique report ID, assigns it to the configuration, and schedules the loading of data. The report ID can only be used for reporting when the configuration status is green.

View Existing Reports

  1. View the existing reports associated with the configuration ID.
  2. Perform the following operations on the report ID:
  • To display the selection parameters for the selected report ID, choose Display Selection Parameters.

  • To delete the persistent data for report ID, choose Delete Persistent Data for Report ID.

  • To delete the report ID, you must delete the persistent data for the report ID and then choose Delete Report ID.

Executing the Report

  1. Select the Report ID in the Business User Reporting screen.
Note: This report ID is executed only if the report status is green.
  1. Enter the selection parameters to filter the data for report generation.
  2. Choose Execute to view the reporting output.
  3. We can navigate to the table defined during configuration from the Navigation List button.
  4. Select an entry from the reporting output list and choose the table to navigate to the selected table.
