Description

This program deletes the AFS material grid header records that are in the archive as well as their AFS material grid entries and AFS material grid texts from the respective database tables.

You can trigger the grid deletion run with the archiving transaction 'SARA'.

Enter the grid archiving object 'J_3AGRID' in the selection screen or search / select the grid archiving object using the matchcode arrow. When you choose 'ENTER' you will see four pushbuttons.

'Archive' - 'Delete' - 'StorageSyst' - 'Management'.

By choosing the pushbutton 'Delete' you trigger the deletion run. In the screen that follows, you must select the archive from which the system should read the grids that are to be deleted.

Then set the 'STARTING DATE' and the 'SPOOLPARAMETERS'.

The system can also 'automatically' start the deletion program after the archiving run if you have made the settings in Customizing (transaction SAR3).

After starting the program, the system deletes all the records of the archive from the respective database tables.

Deleting records:

  • ---> Grid header archive from <-- grid header database table (J_3APGHD)
--> Grid entry archive from <-- grid entry database table (J_3APGEN)
--> Grid text archive <-- grid text database table (J_3APGTX)

  • Selection parameter:
  • Test run (X= yes)

If this parameter is set, the deletion program carries out a test run. That means that there is no database update.
  • Material master check (X = off)

If this parameter is set, the system checks if the grid can be deleted. The system does NOT check for a material master (existing for the grid).

Important Information!

  • SAP recommends that you only set this parameter in exceptional cases. Only set it if you are sure that the grid(s) can be deleted even though there is still a material master for it/them.

Reloading records:

  • You can reload records to the database table with the AFS program J_3AGRIR. You must first activate the records with the AFS program J_3AGRIA!
