Purpose

You can use this report to compare the customer or vendor master data with the Business Partner (BP) master data at master data object level. This feature can be used to identify master data inconsistencies before migrating the master data to an ERP Central Component (ECC) or an S/4HANA system.

Integration

After comparing the master data objects with this report, you can use report Synchronization Cockpit (transaction MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT) to synchronize the master data.

Prerequisites

You have maintained the entries in table MDSE_CMP_MAP_FLD.

Features

You can use this report to compare the following master data objects:

  • Address
  • Bank details
  • Credit cards
  • Industries
  • Tax details
  • Relationships

Selection

You can specify the following restrictions for the comparison:

  1. On the Selection Screen, in the Compare Process group box, double-click a pair of Source Object and Target Object for the comparison.
Note: Depending on the selected objects, the Select Datasets for Comparison group box and the Selection Criteria for Source Objects group box offer different selection possibilities.
  1. In the Select Datasets for Comparison group box, select the master data object types for the comparison.
  2. In the Selection Criteria for Source Objects group box, you can also import an Excel spreadsheet containing source objects using the template.

Standard Variants

Output

After you have defined the parameters for the comparison and executed the report, the system displays the following:

  • The system displays an overview of the results for the selected objects. Depending on the comparison, the status of the results means the following:
  • Comparison of objects and datasets

Green: the data is consistent
Yellow: the field data is inconsistent
Red: the data at field level contains errors
  • Comparison of fields

Green: the values for source and target are equal
Yellow: the values for source and target differ from each other
Red: the value for either source or target is missing
You can access detailed compare results from the Initial Compare Results group box.
  • In the Detail Compare Result group box, the system displays the compared objects. You can display the compared master data objects and the master data values for the source object and the target object. The detailed compare results can be exported as an Excel spreadsheet.

Activities

To access this report, execute transaction MDS_COMPARE_TOOL.
