MPE_BOM_INVERSION - Create Disassembly BOM

Purpose

You can use this report to create a disassembly BOM. The report can be started using a tile on the launchpad or in SAP GUI using transaction MPE_BOM_INV.

The aim is to create a manufacturing BOM that can be used for a disassembly process based on a source BOM which can be an EBOM, an MBOM, or a disassembly template BOM that was created in VEMP. The report converts the positive quantities of the source BOM into negative quantities in the target BOM with the exception of the original header material of the source BOM which becomes the only component with a positive quantity in the target BOM.

Features

If the new material does not yet exist, the report creates it with the type process material or unitized process material as well as a disassembly BOM for this material. If the material already exists, the report creates a new BOM alternative for it.

During the creation of the new disassembly BOM, the system converts the positive component quantities of the source BOM to negative quantities (by-products) to be disassembled. Only the component quantity of the original header material remains positive.

If a new version of the source BOM is created, you can also use the report to create the updated version of the disassembly BOM.

Selection

The report allows you to define the following parameters and settings:

• Source BOM Parameters

Here, you specify the source material and BOM for which you want to create a disassembly BOM. Note that you can enter a material with parameter effectivity or date effectivity. If the material has date effectivity, the system displays an extra field where you can specify the appropriate date. You also have to specify the BOM version to be used for the target disassembly BOM.

• Target BOM Settings

In this section, you specify the data for the new disassembly BOM. Enter the new material as well as the material type (process material or unitized process material). You have to specify the serial number profile and the target BOM usage and the status of the target BOM.

• Execution Mode

Here you can specify whether you want to run the report in simulation or active mode.
