PYC_ACTION_LOG_VIEWER - Action Log Viewer

Purpose

The front-end SAPUI5 user interface of Payroll Control Center provides the action log only in the step view of each process instance. For the purpose of administration or auditing, however, a central place is needed for viewing action logs flexibly based on customers' needs.

Payroll Process Manager or consultants can use this report to query the payroll process action log and download the query result in an Excel file for further processing.

Integration

Prerequisites

• You have generated process instances using the Generate Process Instance (PYC_GENERATE_PROC_INSTANCE) report.

• You have taken activities for the payroll process instances on the front end of the Payroll Control Center.

• You must have the authorization (value 04 Start Reports of the authorization object P_PYD_AAUT) in order to run this report. For more information, see the documentation for the authorization object.

Features

Selection

Besides the standard selection criteria, you can also specify the following:

• Time Zone

This is a mandatory field. Default value is the time zone of the server.

• Action Log Category

Select from the drop-down list. The available options come from the PYD_D_ALC table.

• Manual Entries Only

This option displays the action logs created by users using the Create Log Entry button on the front-end user interface of Payroll Control Center.

• User Entries Only

This option displays the action logs of all user actions, including those created using the Create Log Entry button and the comments or description entered by users on the front-end user interface of Payroll Control Center, for example, the text that a user enters when he or she confirms the completion of a process step.

• Display Extended Action Log

Select this option to display the relevant action log of Payroll Admin in the Payroll Control Center front-end user interface for the Payroll Admin role.

To access this report on the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose Human Resources -> Payroll -> International -> Tools -> Payroll Control Center -> Action Log Viewer.
