PYC_RESET_PROC_INST - Complete Hierarchy Status Refresh for Payroll Process Instances

Purpose

You use this report to reset the status of a whole process instance, mainly for testing and error correction purpose.

You can choose to delete all step instances holding the process statuses (for selected process instances, step group instances, and step instances, including all result objects and action logs). You can also choose to recreate all step instances with initial status information.

Note: As this report can reset or even delete all process-related data, such as status and action log, use it for testing and error correction purpose only!

Selection

Besides the standard selection criteria, you need to specify the following:

• Delete and Recreate

• Delete the whole process instance, including all of its step group instances and step instances, their statuses and all action logs, and recreate the process instance with initial status based on the current configuration of the process. This means that, if the process configuration has changed after the process instance was generated the last time, the changes are reflected in the recreation of the process instance.

By default, this Delete and Recreate action is possible only if the process instance has the execution status Not Started.

• If you do not select this checkbox, the system compares the process instance (and its parts such as step instances) with the current process configuration and adjusts the process instance accordingly: by removing step instances for step that was deleted, changing the sequence of step group instances, and so on. Unchanged parts, for example, step instances for steps without any changes, are not touched by this report.

By default, this adjustment action is possible only if the process instance has the execution status Not Started.

• Ignore Execution Status

If you do not select this checkbox, the report runs on the process instances that have the execution status Not Started.
