Description

When upgrading from Release 2.x to Release 3.0, the customer executes transaction SPDD. This prevents modifications made by the customer to SAP tables from being overwritten by SAP. Actions with which the modifications can be saved are computed and suggested to the customer for a suitable modification set.
The transaction compares the customer's table version with the version provided by SAP. If, for example, it finds that a field of the customer version is missing in the SAP version, one can assume that this is a customer field. It therefore suggests to the customer that this field be rolled out to a so-called Append. Of course this suggestion is incorrect if it is a field which actually existed in a 2.x Release of the SAP table, but which was deleted in 3.0.

To prevent such errors, an exception table was defined, in which the changes made by SAP are marked. This exception table could only be partly filled automatically. The table should therefore be brought up-to-date by hand. All the fields as of Release 2.2D or 2.2J which:
- were deleted from SAP tables
- were projected in another data element
- changed their key field attributes
should therefore be taken into consideration.

This can be done with this program. The name of a field should be entered in the selection screen. The program determines whether this field currently exists in the ABAP/4 Dictionary. If not, it suggests that it be marked as deleted in 3.0 or, if such an entry already exists, that it be cancelled. Such an entry should be made if the table contained such a field in an earlier release upgrade.
Caution: If whole tables were deleted from the ABAP/4 Dictionary, this should not be marked here.

If the field exists in the ABAP/4 Dictionary, it can be marked as changed in 3.0. You can also mark whether the field changed its key field attribute in 3.0 with regard to an older release. A data element to which the field used to refer can also be specified here.
