Purpose

You can use this program to delete time sheet data that was written to an archive file from the database table of the Cross-Application Time Sheet CATSDB. The program is used as a delete program for the archiving object entitled Time Sheet Data (CATS_DATA). The program reads an archiving session for this archiving object and deletes all data saved for this object from the database.

Integration

The programs for the archiving object are controlled using archiving object maintenance (transaction AOBJ). Do not change these entries. The write program RCATS_ARCH_ARCHIVING is available for the archiving object CATS_DATA.

The control parameters for executing the delete program are determined in archiving-object-specific Customizing in Archive Administration (transaction SARA):

Start Automatically for delete jobs means that the delete program is automatically started as a background job once the preceding write phrase of the write program is completed. If on the selection screen of the write program you have selected the Delete with Test Variant checkbox, this is automatically valid for the delete program.

Prerequisites

No errors can have occurred during the archiving session.

Features

The program only deletes data that was written to an archive file by write program RCATS_ARCH_ARCHIVING and still exists in database table CATSDB.

Which data is to be deleted depends on the control parameters you have chosen for executing the write program:

  • If you have chosen Data Destruction, the deletion program deletes data from the database and from the archive file.
  • If you have chosen Archiving, the deletion program deletes data from the database, not the data from the archive file.

Selection

The parameters mean the following:

  • Test Mode
The deletion of the data is simulated for test purposes. No data is deleted from the database
  • Productive Mode
The data is deleted from the database.
  • Detailed Log
If you have chosen Complete from the input help for this field, the system issues a detailed log. Use this option only to perform an error analysis in test mode. Since the log is very detailed, you should not create it in productive mode.

Output

The program issues a list with the number of objects and the volume of deleted time sheet data.
