Purpose

You use this report to prevent concurrent, unprocessed change pointers.

Always run this report when change pointers are reactivated, that is, reset to an unprocessed status.

Concurrent change pointers are change pointers that are based on the same object or object relationship but that have different update indicators, such as "D" (=Delete) or "U" (=Update).

Prerequisites

You are using the SAP E-Recruiting search with Search Engine Service (SES).

Activities

Run the report once you have reactivated change pointers.

Note: You can reactivate change pointers by calling the transaction SES_ADMIN and choosing the menu path Utilities -> Reactivate Change Pointers to start the corresponding report.

Example

On Wednesday, the SES indexes are damaged and can no longer be used. The last backup of the SES indexes was on Monday at 12:00. You import the backup and reactivate all change pointers that were written since 12:00 on Monday. In this way, these change pointers have the status "1" (=Initial/Unprocessed). You then run the report RCF_CLEAN_UP_CHANGE_POINTER to clean up the unprocessed change pointers. Once the report is finished, you can start the report RCF_PERIODICAL_SERVICES to process the change pointers.
