Purpose

With this transaction you can, on a regular basis, determine an initial, major commodity FX exposure amount and let the system automatically create and release commodity FX raw exposures that consume the FX exposure amount.

If you choose to create one single data snapshot on the currently used data, the system additionally creates commodity FX exposure items for this key date, which form the basis for future FX hedge requests.

For a created and released commodity swap, where the currency of the commodity swap (quotation currency) differs from the currency of the company code and which is relevant for hedge accounting, the system automatically determines the commodity FX exposure item and creates the corresponding commodity FX hedge request. FX hedge requests are the basis for establishing hedging relationships and used to create FX hedge instruments.

Note that, other than for FX exposures in Treasury and Risk Management, commodity FX hedge requests do not require end-of-day snapshots generated beforehand. Transaction TOENE is not relevant for executing commodity FX hedges, but you can use it to reproduce the amount of commodity FX hedge requests and display the commoditg FX exposure items.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • There must have been defined commodity-relevant exposure activity types in the IMG under Treasury and Risk Management → Transaction Manager → General Settings → Exposure Management 2.0 → Define Exposure Activity Types, and further settings made under Exposure Lifecycle.
  • A commodity hedging area must have been defined in the Fiori app Define Hedging Area and with reference to a valid, period-based FX hedging area.
