Purpose

You can update mark-to-market (MtM) values after changes have been made to sales orders, deliveries and final billing documents (in Sales), and purchase orders, goods receipts and final vendor invoices (in Purchasing).

For technical reasons, the processing for this update is triggered in the background. If you do not make any additional settings (by executing this report), the system performs this processing in a delayed update task.

This delayed update task, however, is processed for the current user who is triggering the respective change. As the processing may involve invoice simulations to evaluate goods receipts or deliveries, the user authorizations that are in place may not be sufficient.

It is therefore possible to set up background RFC (bgRFC) destinations so that processing is then performed through a bgRFC call. For this bgRFC call, you have the option of configuring user information in an RFC destination deviating from the 'current user' who is executing the transaction. In addition, processing through a bgRFC (instead of an update task) increases system throughput and therefore improves the system performance.

This report creates the following objects, depending on the selected options:

  • bgRFC inbound destination and RFC connection 'CMM_MTM_PUR' for updating MtM values in Purchasing
  • bgRFC inbound destination and RFC connection 'CMM_MTM_SLS' for updating MtM values in Sales

Integration

Prerequisites

You have activated the Procure-to-Pay for Commodities 4(LOG_MM_COMMODITY_04) business function and/or the Contract-to-Cash for Commodities 4(LOG_SD_COMMODITY_04) business function.

You have authorization to create bgRFC destinations and RFC connections. An appropriate role is available with SAP_QAP_S_BGRFC_ALL.
