Purpose

You can use this report to periodically reorganize mark-to-market value tables for logistics documents.

For example, if you usually run the Revaluation of Logistics Documents report at the end of every day to update the prices associated with your logistics documents, this results in a constant stream of data being written to the mark-to-market value tables, which therefore continuously expand over time. This report enables you to clean up these tables by removing values for dates that are – in your opinion – no longer significant for your mark-to-market reporting.

Integration

Prerequisites

You have activated the MtM table update in Customizing for Commodity Management under Logistics – General -> Commodity Management -> Analytics-> Mark-to-Market-> Define MtM Settings at Client Level.

Activities

You can remove aging valuation data for unrealized MtM values by entering a specific past evaluation date, before which all data is to be deleted from the value table. For example, if you enter 12.03.2014 in the Eval.Date Older Than field, all of the data stored in the corresponding MtM value table for evaluations up until 12.03.2014 will be deleted from the table.

Final invoices contain final prices and are therefore no longer subject to repricing or revaluation. From a technical perspective, these realized MtM values are therefore stored using an initial valuation date (00.00.0000). As this date will always lie before any date entered by the user in the Eval.Date Older Than field, it is critical that you keep this checkbox selected to avoid deleting the table entries for your final invoices. For this reason, Keep Final Invoices is preselected by default. You can still choose to clean up these realized MtM values if required by deselecting the Keep Final Invoices checkbox and identifying the records that are to be cleaned up, for example by using the 'creation date' of the documents.

If there have been multiple changes to a document during a single day, resulting in multiple repricing activities during that day, the system creates a different version each time the document is saved with new pricing data.

The active (most recent) version has the number 0000000000. The next oldest version within that same day is named 0000000001 and so on. Only the version numbered 0000000000 is active. Select the Keep Active Version checkbox if you want to clean up and delete all older (inactive) versions of the data for each day, leaving only the latest (active) versions in the table.
