Purpose

To rebuild actual totals records (table GLPCT) from line items (table GLPCA) for ledger 8A of EC-PCA.

Prerequisites

The correction report must be executed by an SAP expert only.

The following analysis programs should first be executed in the background:

  • RGUSLSEP: Comparison of totals table with line items. Ledger 8A, record type '0' any further required selection parameters are to be entered as parameters.
  • RGUREP11: Check of the object number consistency of totals table GLPCT. Table GLPCT is to be entered as the parameter.

If errors are displayed here, these must be corrected before proceeding.

If line items required for the rebuild have been archived or are incorrect, it does not make sense to proceed with rebuilding the totals records from line items.

Features

Program RCOPCA_REBUILD_GLPCT_BY_GLPCA2 performs the following actions:

  • The totals records (GLPCT) are reset in accordance with the selection, which means the corresponding balances are deleted for the specified period.
  • The line items (GLPCA) are read in accordance with the selection. The total records in GLPCT are rebuilt based on these line items. Each of the balances can be rebuilt for just one period.
  • Program RCOPCA_REBUILD_GLPCT_BY_GLPCA2 does not check whether line items were actually written for the selection conditions or whether these fully exist.

Program RCOPCA_REBUILD_GLPCT_BY_GLPCA2 should first be executed in test mode and the result checked thoroughly. The report should not be executed in an update run until steps have been taken to ensure that the report returns the desired results.

When report RCOPCA_REBUILD_GLPCT_BY_GLPCA2 is executed in an update run, steps must be taken to ensure that postings are not made to the relevant period when the report is being executed.
