Purpose

You use this report to find missing entries of the availability control (AVC) index (table FMBASIDX).

Prerequisites

This report is relevant for the Budget Control System (BCS).

Features

This report supports standard control objects. If you activated cover eligibility and created automatic cover groups for most of your budget addresses, we do not recommend using this report.

The AVC index of table FMBASIDX determines the standard control object for a posting address or a budget address, to which application data has been posted. The main reasons for using an AVC index are to improve runtime performance and to prevent the system from checking consecutive postings to the same posting address or budget address on different control objects.

If you execute the report in test mode, the program shows missing index entries but does not add them to the AVC index.

Execute the report in productive mode to add missing index entries to table FMBASIDX.

In productive mode, the program offers the option of correcting the AVC data by writing offset postings.

Selection

To run this report, specify a financial management (FM) area, a fiscal year, and a control ledger.

You restrict your selection of posting addresses or budget addresses by specifying a range of account assignment elements.

Restrict Evaluation

You determine the values you want to evaluate by choosing one of the following options:

  • Consider All Record Types
The process considers posting addresses and budget addresses that contribute to the AVC data of all record types (commitments/actuals and budget data).
  • Consider Only Record Type =0
The process considers posting addresses that contribute to the AVC data of record type =0 (commitments/actuals).
  • Consider Only Record Type =1
The process considers budget addresses that contribute to the AVC data of record type =1 (budget data).

Control Parameters

  • Test Mode
  • The program shows missing index entries, but does not add them to the index table.

  • Correct AVC Data
  • Select this option if you want the program to correct the AVC data; this runtime option has no effect in test mode.

  • Deselect this option to add missing index entries, but not to correct inconsistent AVC data. In this case you correct individual AVC data inconsistencies from the program output by selecting a control object and pressing the Correct AVC Data button. Alternatively, you may find and correct inconsistent AVC data with the List of AVC Data Inconsistencies report.

  • Ignore Invalid MD Values
Select this option if you want the program to process account assignments with invalid master data values.
  • Add Missing Posting Addresses
Valid posting addresses of the budget structure are stored in the same database table as the AVC index. You need an entry for each posting address to which application data has been posted.
Select this option if you want the program to verify each posting address missing in the AVC index to see if it is missing in the budget structure definition. In this case, it adds the missing posting address to the budget structure.

Standard Variants

Output

The output screen contains the following sections:

  • Report Header
In addition to the FM area, the fiscal year, and the control ledger, the program displays the account assignment elements for the posting addresses or budget addresses for which one value was selected.
  • Report List
Each selected posting address or budget address is displayed on one line with all account assignment element values.
Below each posting address or budget address, an additional line is displayed. This line shows the standard control object as determined from the derivation strategy for control objects.

Activities

You use this report to add single missing AVC index entries.

If you find a large amount of missing AVC index entries or if you use automatic cover groups for most of your budget addresses, execute the program for reconstructing AVC data (transaction FMAVCREINIT).
