Purpose

You can use this report to copy and transport objects of the Business Rule Framework (BRF) in the Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable.

The selection screen comprises the following sections:

Enter the application class.

Leave the fields Import Status and Version unchanged.

Specify which BRF objects you want to copy or transport.

You can make the following settings:

  • Only SAP Objects
  • Only Customer Objects
  • All Objects

Specify which operation you want to execute. In addition, enter the source client for the relevant operation.

The following operations are possible:

  • Copy
The system copies all selected BRF objects of the source client to the target client. The system checks whether a BRF object already exists in the target client. Depending on the result of the check, the system performs one of the following activities:
  • If the BRF object exists, the system overwrites this BRF object.

  • If the BRF object does not yet exist, the system creates this BRF object in the target client.

Notes:
  • Run the report in the client to which you want to copy the BRF objects (target client).

  • You can only copy within one system.

  • In contrast to Identical Copy, the system does not delete any BRF objects in the target client.

  • The system does not consider any orphaned or excluded table entries.

'Orphaned' means that there is an entry for a BRF object in the specialization table but not in the main table. This means that the BRF object is no longer used.
  • Identical Copy
This operation has the same significance as Copy, but with the following difference:
If the target client contains BRF objects that do not exist in the source client, the system deletes these BRF objects. With Copy, the system does not delete these BRF objects.
So 'Identical Copy' means that the status of the BRF objects in the source and target client is identical.
  • Transport
The system writes the selected BRF objects of the target client into a transport request.
Notes:
  • Run the report in the system and client from which you want to transport the objects.

  • The client must be a Customizing client.

  • The system does not transport orphaned or excluded BRF objects. These BRF objects remain in the database.

  • Copy and Transport
This is a combination of the two operations Copy and Transport.
Run the report in the system and client to which you want to copy the objects or from which you want to transport the objects.
  • Clear and Transport
The system deletes orphaned (see also the last note under Copy) or excluded BRF objects from the database and writes them into a transport request.

Once the system has copied and/or transported the BRF objects, it creates a results list.

Here you define which entries the system should display in the results list. The following entries are possible:

  • Success Messages
  • Warnings
  • Error Messages
  • Only Key Fields
You can use this indicator if you want the system to display just the key fields in the results list. This means that you can restrict the results list to the most important fields.

If you set the Simulation indicator, the system ignores all operations that lead to changes in the database.

Integration

Prerequisites

Features

Selection

The most important sections of the selection screen are:

Main selection

Enter an application class. You can also use the application class FLIGHT from the flight example.

Secondary Selection

Leave the entries for the import status (A) and version (0000) unchanged.

Object restriction

You can specify which BRF objects you want to be copied or transported. The following settings are possible:

  • Only SAP objects
  • Only customer objects
  • All objects

Operations

Specify which operations are to be executed. You have the following options:

  • Copy
Execute the report in the client to which you want to copy the BRF objects (target client).
The system copies all BRF objects of the specified source client that correspond to the transferred selection criteria.
You can only copy objects within the same system. The system adds the copied objects to the target client. Existing objects are changed accordingly. The system does not delete any objects in the target client. The system does not copy orphaned or excluded objects.
  • Transport
Execute the report in the system and client from which you want to transport the objects.
The system creates transport entries for the selected BRF objects of the client. This is only possible if the client is a Customizing client.
When prompted by the system, specify a transport request.
The system does not transport orphaned or excluded BRF objects. They remain in the database.
  • Copy and Transport
Execute the report in the system and client to which you want to copy objects and/or from which you want to transport objects.
The system copies and transports as described above.

Display Options

After copying / transporting, the system generates a results list. The list contains the following entries:

  • BRF objects that have been copied / transported (success messages)
  • BRF objects that have not been copied / transported (warning and error messages) and the reason why

You can specify how extensive and detailed you want this results list to be.

Simulation

In simulation mode, the system skips all the operations that cause changes in the database.

Standard Variants

Output

The results list is made up of two parts:

If you made the appropriate setting in the display options, the first part lists all the table entries the system considered while processing the report.

The second part lists all the tables the system considered, including the number of added and updated entries. Since the report does not delete anything, the number of entries that theoretically would have been deleted is meant for statistical purposes only.

Activities

Notes

  • To make changes to the database, you must switch off simulation mode.
  • To transport BRF objects that were not delivered by SAP, you must copy the report and manually add the tables in the include BRF_TRANSPORT_SIMPLE_MAIN.
If these tables are specialization tables, note the following:
  • Add an 'F' in inverted commas to expressions for specialization tables.

  • Add an 'A' in inverted commas to actions for specialization tables.
