RFWQENQ_ACTIVATE_QUEUE - Priority Queue for Lock Processing
ABAP Short Reference ABAP Short ReferenceThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
Purpose
You use this report to activate the priority queue for lock processing.
When more than one user or background process attempt to process the same data, the system sets a lock entry. Lock entries prevent two transactions from changing the same data in the database simultaneously. If the priority queue is activated, exclusive locks are placed in a queue according to a defined priority. The system then sets the lock entries in order of priority.
Integration
Before you activate the priority queue, we recommend that you first activate the trace for lock processing to help you monitor your system with regard to the lock logic and determine whether and under which circumstances it is necessary to activate the priority queue.
If you do not activate the priority queue, the system processes locks in accordance with the standard SAP lock mechanism.
Prerequisites
Features
You can define the parameters that the system uses for the priority queue.
Furthermore you can use this report to activate tracing of lock processing, both when the priority queue is activated and also when the priority queue is not activated.
By tracing lock processing, you can collect system information that allows you to estimate the duration of locks and to identify potential lock conflicts.
Selection
Lock Table
You specify the range of lock tables for which you want to activate the priority queue or the trace for lock processing or for which you want to specify system parameters for the priority queue. You then run the report.
The screen displays the activation status of the priority queue and the trace (activated or not activated). You can change the activation status by pressing the Change button next to each status.
The screen also displays the values of the following system parameters:
You can change the value of each parameter by pressing the corresponding Change button.
