Use

This program enables you to copy sets between different tables.

With release 4.0A this should no longer be necessary, since sets can be used for all compatible table fields independent of the the table for which they were created, with the exception of multi-sets and additional sets with predefined columns. Several sets of a source table can be copied at one time. You can limit the quantity of sets to be copied by entering values sets for

  • the fields of the source table
  • the names of the copied sets, and
  • the fields of the target table.

The fields of the source table are automatically assigned to those of the target table. The names of the source table field and the target table field do not have to correspond.

If you enter a prefix, it will be placed in front of the old set name to distinguish the copied sets from the original sets. If you do not enter a prefix, the suffix "new table" will be attached at the end of the old set name, or the existing suffix will be replaced by this suffix.

Note

  1. By allowing only one field of the source table as the from-field and only one field of the target table as the to-field, you can replace the automatic assignment of the fields between both tables with a manual assignment. However, the field type and length of the assigned fields must correspond. In addition, the to-field cannot have a conversion routine (for example, ALPHA to suppress leading zeros) if the from-field does not have it as well.
  2. To gain an impression of the automatic field assignment, you can execute the program using the 'Test run' option.
  3. Set variables in multi-sets are not copied but rather removed from the multi-set.
  4. General sets can only be created for a source table, dependent on the original Class of the sets.
