RHIQ_XML_ACADSTRUC - Generation of XML files

Purpose

This report extracts the Academic Structure and also Module and Event Offerings in XML files.

Generated XML files can be downloaded to any file system if the report is executed in dialog mode (GUI download). If the report is executd in batch mode, the files must be created on the application server first and must then be copied to another file system.

The XSL output considers as far as possible Business Objects like defined in the Enterprise Service Repository. Among others following Business Objects are used:

- OrganisationalCentre - Organizational Unit

- AcademicProgramOf Study - Program of Study

- AcademicModuleGroup - Module Group

- AcademicModule - Module

- LearningProduct - Module Offer (offered module or offered module plus event package)

- LearningActivity - Academic Event

Integration

Prerequisites

If report is run in batch mode, the files are extracted to the logical file ISHER_WEBCATALOGXML on the application server. You might need to set up logical and physical files using transaction FILE.

Features

Selection

Root Object (Organizational Unit) - This is the object for which the Academic Structure is read. The root object is only considered in the generation of file 'Organizational Structure'.

Language - Object and attribute texts are read in the specified language only. If object and attribute texts are required in several languages the report must be execuetd several times.

Key Date - Key Date used for reading data. Only objects and object attributes are read which are valid at the specified key date.

Academic Year - Only those module and event offerings are read which are offered in the specified year. The Academic Year is only considered in the generation of file 'Offering'.

Academic Period - Only those module and event offerings are read which are offered in the specified period. The Academic Period is only considered in the generation of file 'Offering'.

Filenames - Names of the generated XML files.

Transformations - XSL-Transformations used to generate the XML files.

Standard Variants

Output

Output of the report are 5 files.

Organizational Structure - contains the root organizational unit (specified root object), the organizational units below the root and their Academic Structure. It includes information about the organizational unit.

Disciplines - contains all modules, module groups and programs of study organized by disciplines

Programs and Program Structure - contains all programs, programs information and the program structure

Modules - contains all modules and modules information

Filename: contains all module and event offerings.

Activities

Check files on the application server with transaction AL11.

Copy generated XML files from application server to another file system with report RHIQ_XML_DOWNLOAD.
